Twitter As Research Tool… A Case Study

describes her recent experience with asking her Twitter followers to help her find a good resource.  Denise was looking for a good product for online scheduling… and since many of her “tweeps” are also virtual professionals - she instantly received a lot of excellent suggestions:

I put my request out on Twitter and within minutes I had dozens of responses and suggestions. Amazing. The predominant suggestions were for TimeDriver, Appointment Quest and Google Calendar (which we use, but I’m not sure it can really do what we want). I’ll be checking out these systems over the weekend and make a decision by Monday.

The takeaway is that you can leverage your Twitter connections to quickly crowdsource a question and save time on researching issues.  Of course, DM-ming to replies and saying thanks is a great connection-builder and just good Twitterquette!

Thanks for sharing the power of twitter with your readers. Like many, I was a huge twitter skeptic until I actually started using it and have found it to be a powerful tool for building better relationships, attracting new leads, new clients, speaking gigs and JV opportunities.

This is a must-use tool for anyone doing business online.
